K-12 Education Services We Provide
Fab Foundation hosts a community of practice called SCOPES-DF which brings together an educational community of practitioners activating digital fabrication tools to support authentic student learning. With 1,000 members, this website hosts over 250 community-contributed lesson plans to engage students in learning with Fab tools. Lessons are standards-aligned and incorporate the Fab I Can Statements for student learning assessment.
Teacher Professional Development
Fab Foundation offers teacher professional development for schools and school districts looking to integrate digital fabrication tools into the classroom. Fab Educators will design and implement individualized professional development experiences for schools, preservice programs, school districts, and educators in and out of the classroom. Trainings can be offered in-person and virtual with focus on content integration, technical training, and pedagogy and classroom support. Fab Educators also offer 1:1 lesson coaching for subject area teachers activating digital fabrication technologies to support classroom learning.
Fab Foundation is registered as a state-approved teacher PD provider by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE).

Fab Foundation’s approach to digital fabrication integration can support authentic student learning in any educational setting. Built on constructionist roots, the student-centered,culturally relevant learning that happens in a Fab Lab provides opportunities for students to practice the engineering design process, scientific inquiry, and also build STEM competencies like collaboration, complex problem solving, and design thinking. Consulting services are available for any learning space in any stage of development.

Fab Educators will work directly with teachers to develop and deliver standards-aligned lessons that integrate digital design and fabrication technologies. These learning modules can be done with students virtually or in person for both informal education and school-based classrooms.

K-12 Educational Mobile Fab Lab: Brilliant Career Lab
GE Brilliant Career Lab was developed in partnership with the Fab Foundation to enable students to investigate STEM careers through hands on experiences with digital fabrication tools in a mobile lab. Lessons can be deployed in partnership with teachers in middle and high school classrooms with the resources of a mobile lab, which visits each classroom and includes equipment, materials, and an instructor that partners with the classroom teacher. Brilliant Career Play is an extension of the Boston Celtics and GE partnership that creates access for middle school students in a mobile lab environment to engage in hands-on, interactive educational experiences.
